Charleston for Palestine: One year of genocide, 75+ years of resistance
We know in our hearts that one day all oppressed people of the world will be free from the people and systems who oppress us. The work will continue.
From Charleston for Palestine:
On October 7, 2024, Charleston for Palestine spoke before the Charleston City Council in the capital city of West Virginia. We called upon our elected city officials to make our voices heard by our state and federal officials, who have been dodging or outright ignoring our demands to stop the ongoing occupation and genocide. As the situation in the Middle East grows more and more dangerous, we have also seen flooding across Appalachia from Hurricane Helene, showing us exactly where those federal tax dollars could be better spent rather than arming Israel to murder civilians. Though we have been met with many barriers and acts of indifference, we stood together last night as one to advocate for all of the victims of U.S. imperialism and war across the world. The past year has been filled with loss, heartache, and fear of what the future may bring, but we know in our hearts that one day all oppressed people of the world will be free from the people and systems who oppress us. The work will continue. As always, Free Palestine!
